Callahan Country Bugs Challenge #1

Make a flower from a Cricut Cart. I made this one from Gypsy Wanderings. I cut 6 layers, three of each color. I bent up the pedals and glued the layers together. Then I glued a piece of rolled velvet ribbon onto a circular base and then glued it to the center of the flower, just to make it a little different. Then I put a small amount glue onto the pedals and glittered them. If you click on the picture of the layout you can get a better look.

Brody

This is my first attempt at a Stair Step Card. It’s not perfect, I had to adjust it to fit my envelope. Maybe next time I will get the kinks out. :0)

Slick Chicks

This is one layout I completed at Scrapfest.

I used my copics to draw a cartoon version of this photo of Sheanice and Ashli, then put the two into a layout. I love the way it came out.

Bible Club this week

All of this was cut from Cricut Carts.

Fly Away

Don’t you just have days when you feel like this?

…..Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.
Indeed, I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah

My Scrapbook Room

Some pictures from my scrapbook room. My wonderful husband rebuilt my room so that I could be more organized and have more room. Thanks Honey! :0) Now I have room for a few friends to come over and scrapbook.

DOG HOUSE

For my brothers first Anniversary. :0)

Praise to you O Lord

I made this wall hanging for my scrapbook room. I love these verses from 1 Chronicles 29 about Praising the Lord. Lately in life I need to encourage myself to wait for the Lord. Everytime I go into my scrapbook room I will be reminded of what God’s word is saying to me. :0)
I started with a piece of muslin material painted with Gesso and distressed with Tim Holtz distressing ink to give the material an aged look. Then I sewed a 12×12 piece of scrapbook paper to the material. Now is the time to turn down the top and sew it to pull ribbon through for hanging.
I distressed the edges of the material using a distressing tool. The roses were made from paper, if you would like to see a tutorial go to this link:

I added tacky glue to the edges and sprinkled on Martha Stewart Tinsel glitter. The crown was cut from a gold metallic cardstock with the Cricut Indie Art Cart, then antiqued with distressing ink. I cut two frames from a cordinating paper and painted the large frame with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint. The verses were printed onto scrapbook paper using my printer. I changed the color to dark brown to match my color scheme. The corners are stamped onto printed paper and cut out leaving a small border on the edges. I believe this is called a Halo. The small flowers are stamped, cut out and pop dotted onto the page with a small metal frame added. The butterfly was stamped onto grunge paper that has had alcohol inks applied. The top layer of the butterfly is velum colored with alcohol ink. This project is a good place to use a lot of those little things you’ve been collecting but don’t know what to do with Just pick a theme, color scheme and get started.

Praise be to you, O Lord,
God of our Father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29: 1-13
